About

Hi! My name is Mitchell, a home (and self-taught) cook based in New York sharing easy, delicious, and approachable Asian food recipes!

My Cooking Philosophy

Before I started making videos, my mom always told me I had the palette of the common man (I think that’s a compliment), and I took that seriously! I started making recipe videos not to impress chefs, but with the mission of trying to make food that hits. You don’t need a culinary degree, a fat wallet, or need super fancy equipment to make something tasty. Whether it’s Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken, Honey Butter Chicken, or Creamy Gochujang Noodles, every dish I share always has flavor and simplicity in mind.

My favorite food is fried chicken!

What You’ll Find on This Blog

I started this blog as a way to build on the recipe videos I share on Tiktok, Instagram, and YouTube, a space where I could explain my recipes even in more depth, answer commonly asked questions, and offer even more tips. My goal isn’t just to make easy Asian recipes, but to make them faster, cheaper, and (in my opinion) better! Every recipe comes with clear, digestible instructions, plus substitutions and alternatives if you’re missing an ingredient or want to switch things up. Whether you’re a college student, cooking solo, or just tired after work and want something that hits fast…I got you.

How I Got Here

I’m half Chinese, half Japanese, and I first got into cooking when I was a teenager because I wanted to perform better in sports! I Am Never Full actually started as a small instagram page when I was in 8th grade and wanted to show off my food to my friends! Very quickly, what started as a way to save some money quickly turned into something I genuinely loved.

One of my earliest creations…pasta sandwiches!!

Before making recipe videos, I was a recent college graduate who worked in investment banking. Despite being constantly exhausted and stressed, cooking became my escape. No matter how long or bad the day was, sitting down to a good meal to treat myself was the one thing that I always looked forward to. I am grateful enough to be creating and posting recipes full-time and can’t wait to keep growing this little corner of the internet, one meal at a time!

The Role My Family Plays

My parents have been a huge part of my journey as well, supporting me every step of the way, and to this day, they still are my most honest critics! From my terrible attempts at stir fried carrots and dry chicken breast to being taste testers of my newest dishes, they have been there for it all! Cooking has become one of the things that really brings us together now, whether it’s my dad showing me his salmon sashimi or my mom sending selfies with their dinners, it’s become the way we communicate! Every time I visit home, they always have a few selected recipe videos that they want me to make. It’s our little tradition!

I always loved my birthdays because my parents would let me eat as much cake as I wanted!

I also have 2 sisters, who fit perfectly into our food-oriented family: one’s a passionate baker who is always baking loafs, brownies, or cookies, and the other? She’s the dedicated taste tester…especially if it involves fruit. Sometimes I don’t even cook for her. I just cut up a ton of fruit! Whether we’re sharing food we made, baking something new, or just sitting around eating, food is always what has brought us closer. It’s more than meals now, it’s our way of staying connected, and now it’s the way I get to connect with others, too.

My sisters and I always loved (and still do!) eating Korean food together.

My Pantry Essentials for Asian Home Cooking

If you’re new to Asian cooking, don’t stress! I keep things pretty simple. I often use soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, shaoxing wine, oyster sauce, fish sauce, corn starch, and chili oil as my go-to flavor building blocks. With just these few staples, you can make a lot of my recipes and go weeks without being bored of the same foods!
